The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

FISH is proud to partner with The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)—a federal program that helps supplement the diets of individuals and families with low income by providing food at no cost.

What is TEFAP?

TEFAP is a federal program that provides additional food to help households stretch their groceries.

Neighborhood pantries like FISH distribute TEFAP food, which includes USDA-provided items such as shelf-stable staples and fresh produce.

This program is available at no cost to you, offering extra support when you need it.

USDA foods typically include juices, canned fruits and vegetables, canned and/or frozen meats, dry beans, and pasta.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Households must certify that their income does not exceed 185% of the federal poverty guidelines by self-certifying via the income guideline and or on approved governmental assistance program.

  • For each additional household member, add $848 per month to the income limit.
